** I bought this for home brewing so this may not apply to all. I didn't know they existed until I explored the fermentation chamber and saw this one. Simply cheap and inexpensive. I still don't understand how people turned freezers/bins into a 50-60F environment. You can find tons of information on how to connect them between YouTube and Google. Personally I wanted mine to be a stand alone unit with 110V outlets. Many people plug it into their fridge/freezer. I see a lot of negative reviews about it because they don't understand how it works and they think it's broken. Remember this is a switch, not an outlet. The hot and cold contacts on the back don't supply current, but instead connect/open a circuit (like a light switch). The box I built (see photo) cost me $42 STC-1000 - $18 component box - $11 connector - $214/3 stranded wire (2ft) - $1.50 input connector (C14) - $4.50 tips/ Clamps - $5
