The double wall construction is great for insulation but I don't know how they are actually made. There's a stain on the underside that leads me to believe they somehow blew up. The problem is that the stain/hole in the base allows water to seep between the glass walls of the mug when washed in the dishwasher. So wash your hands there, they'll probably be fine, but everything I have in the kitchen can be washed in the dishwasher. So these will come back.
- Notes: There are small round holes in the bottom of the espresso cups. This can prevent them from breaking in use while allowing the glass to breathe. It is sealed to prevent water from entering.
