Many Vanagon owners ask me how to start adding solar panels to their current installations. They were often overwhelmed with the amount of information, options and user settings described on the Internet. I wanted to find a good all round rig that anyone with a screwdriver and some wire strippers could install in under an hour without having to pull out my hair by doing tons of online research. Overall I am VERY happy with this Renogy 100w foldable solar case. For a total price of around $285 (solar panel and additional wiring), anyone can step into the world of sunlight harvesting to recharge their batteries. Even with a few little things that I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about, such as the ingenious closures, I still find the product to be very well made and very effective overall. I can easily overlook minor flaws as the overall product is a winner in my book. Of course there are other more expensive and complex options, but the purpose of this article is to find a good kit that is effective, inexpensive and can be installed quickly by anyone, regardless of skill level. I feel like Renogy's 100-watt foldable solar case is a perfect match.
