Shelly2.5 gets very hot on both standard Shelly firmware and ESPHome firmware (including GPIO16 Floating Pin Fix). (See attached photos. Read tempo from stock firmware with MQTT, listen, on HA.) I haven't installed it yet, I just connected L and N and plugged it into the box. Ambient temperature 20Β°C, when it is off, the temperature is 65Β°C. When switched on with no load connected, the temperature exceeds 85Β°C. Other people seem to have cooler temperatures when used outside of the case. (I'm in Asia, 220V). to touch. Actually I bought Qty4 Shelly2.5 and they all work at 65C. If you do a google search you can confirm that they are just plain hot. The devices are still working fine, the WiFi is uninterrupted and I can turn them on and off remotely. I'm pretty sure it's fine, but it's way too hot for my comfort level, especially when I mount it behind a wall. Since the overheat shutdown is actually a feature of these Shellys, I would have to set the overheat to +85C to stop them! Again, this is beyond my comfort level. I really wish the manufacturer would fix this problem. I mean, an on-chip temp sensor can give such high temp readings and can be perfectly fine. But until the manufacturer says something, I won't use it. Go back to Revain and use 4x Shelly1PM instead as they don't seem to have this problem.
