If your modified broken trunk lid motor no longer works, then most likely the plastic housing is broken (usually in several places). Dorman offers this factory quality replacement case at a competitive price unlike the dealer. It's the perfect choice for an economical replacement of a fail-prone factory part, and it works just as well. Of course there are other companies online that offer "hardened" versions at a much higher price and it would be nice to see an "upgraded" version from Dorman, but the warranty on this part is very good if it is Should it ever fail again, you are protected. Feel free to replace your broken factory unit with a Dorman case. We've used them in two cars with heavy boot lids and haven't had any problems so far. Highly recommended!
