DAMAGE DORMAN! in Pull Down Trunk Lid

As mentioned this is NOT an exact replacement for many applications. I suspect it's the poor manufacturing quality in China that pushes them well above specification. that Dorman had to fix. I had to enlarge the screw holes and slightly enlarge the slot that holds the motor. I'd be surprised if it cost Dorman more than $1. Made in China, so they're selling a crappy product at a HUGE premium. I will try to avoid their products in the future.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Unbelievable Price

Fits 1993 Lincoln Town Cars

This item will fit 1993 Lincoln Town Cars, although Revane and Dorman themselves say they don't. I just replaced a broken case in my drawer with this exact piece. I just moved the factory transmission and motor and it's running like a champ again. I've only given it three stars so far, so I can't guarantee durability. As a Dorman, I'm cautious but hopeful. I have no hesitation in telling you to stay away from their mixed door operators and speed sensors.

Pros
  • Very Good Price
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Perfect fit but not listed

I have been looking for a replacement engine for my 1989 Lincoln Towncar for about two years, the engine was fine but the body was completely destroyed. The whole assembly cost about $200+ so I was hesitant to buy it. Came across this case which Amazon said didn't fit my car but it looked exactly like mine so I decided to try it and it fit perfectly! It was black, not transparent, but that doesn't matter. This solved my problem. I am very pleased! I suggest that the seller add my 80's Lincolns…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive

This part appears to be much better than the original

I have a 1989 Buick Riviera and this part was just what I needed for my broken trunk sub motor. The body of the original engine started to crack and ended up where it didn't work without pushing the trunk to help it close. This part seems much better than the original. Just remember how everything came out of the old one when replacing the engine with a new case, and you will be happy. The screw holes were very narrow so I threaded the screws through and back to make assembly easier. Easy work.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

The best budget option for weak GM trucks!

If your modified broken trunk lid motor no longer works, then most likely the plastic housing is broken (usually in several places). Dorman offers this factory quality replacement case at a competitive price unlike the dealer. It's the perfect choice for an economical replacement of a fail-prone factory part, and it works just as well. Of course there are other companies online that offer "hardened" versions at a much higher price and it would be nice to see an "upgraded" version from Dorman…

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
