As previously mentioned, this product has design and/or manufacturing issues. It turns out that in order to fasten the hood, you need to remove the cape from the coat, which is attached to four buttons. The hood is then attached to these buttons. The problem is that the two internal buttons on the hood are too close together. They don't match the buttons on the coat, so the hood doesn't close properly. If I had two extra bars I think I could position them myself and be as prepared as possible for whatever Mother Nature throws at me. I mean, this is a serious coat. While others have written to get additional hooded snaps, I didn't. The seller responded quickly and tried to get me more pictures of Outback Trading. Let's hope Outback Trading will take care of your issue and fix the defective product for future buyers. I will keep you up-to-date. Update: The seller just emailed me that Outback Trading is sending additional pictures to resolve the issue. The hood itself is just as strong as the rest of Outback Trading's oilcloth line. It definitely protects against wind and rain and is roomy enough to wear extra layers underneath for warmth when it gets really cold. I will update the stars as the pics come in and they are useful. Update 2: A great and responsive seller asked Outback Trading to send more pictures so I can fix it myself. Seller 5 stars. On the other hand, Outback Trading didn't even bother to reply to an email I sent through their own website. Therefore, their maintenance is nil. You should be ashamed.
