Review on KYB SM5523 Insulator by Daniel Bulkley

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The return was very easy. Summary

I have to assume that the product itself is fine. After all, this is a KYB product. The problem I had was in the description. Description from both this seller and the KYB website. I bought a KYB product, shock absorber, spring, whole strut described as "Strut Plus". This spring seat isolator is included with the Strut Plus build, but the KYB catalog doesn't tell me this isolator was included. I was concerned and emailed KYB. They responded very quickly, but this isolator, I was told, had been shipped. I was able to return the product but the return shipping cost was deducted as stated by Revain. The return was very easy. Conclusion: The description is missing something. But all in all I have no real complaints. I just wish there was a more complete description. I replaced all four shock absorbers in our 20 year old Toyota Corolla with a KYB Stut Plus. The mechanic who did the job said in a statement "a significant change". He didn't say if it was better or worse! :-) The little I've ridden on it, plus just hopping, supports "big change". Stay tuned for my KYB Strut Plus review in a few weeks. This gives me time to analyze the changes at different temperatures and loads. My previous experience with KYB was over 5 stars.
