Weak plastic lasts a couple of years

After almost two years of use, the plastic lever on the side pinches. broken metal drive (?). I pre-drilled a hole and put a screw in there to act as a lever. This continued for another year and a half before the front of the handle separated from the substrate. I'll use a different brand this time.
