I bought a SportDOG Orange Check line for swimming with a dog. The rope floats well, and the Hi-Viz's almost orange color makes it easy enough to see that your dog won't get tangled in it while swimming. Good width, good length, dries quickly and has a solid brass clip. The description shows that the clip is small (I almost didn't buy it for that reason) but it's a pretty standard size. My dog wears a double D-Link harness and the clip easily attaches through both links. There is no loop at the other end of the rope, but the rope is not so stiff that it would be difficult to manufacture. I have not used it for leash walking or field training, only swimming so I cannot confirm its durability in such conditions although I believe it will hold up well.
