I bought this hardware weave (wire mesh) to solve a unique problem. I've had birds climbing up my bathroom vents and needed a simple solution to keep them out. It really worked perfectly. I framed the wire mesh around a 3 inch disc of wood that I cut from the scraps, trimmed off the excess material and then inserted into the channels just behind the damper on the outside of the house. Actually, I was surprised that it worked so well. Birds don't hop in my air ducts anymore! And I don't have to worry about the grille rusting or cracking because it's galvanized. Just note that the edges are very sharp and bulging. Be sure to wear gloves when working with this material. I am very happy with my purchase.
