Do not buy. Not as bright as a standard lamp

I really like the functionality of the bulb, it does everything I wanted. Apple HomeKit works well No hub is a big plus Connects via Bluetooth rather than another WiFi device. Siri seemed to respond faster. Setting up different scenes or schedules for the lighting is very easy. However, if you want a lightbulb to be a different color at night, you can set that up, but the light has to come on and then gets stuck. on this setting until you change it manually. That sucks a bit, I would love to create a scene or time of day with that color and brightness and then without having to click the bulb back to another time would be great. And I tried turning off the light and adjusting the color but it doesn't work exactly how I wanted it to. This aspect may be related to the Apple HomeKit app, not the lightbulb. The biggest issue for me is that the bulb is only 800 lumens which is pretty bright and that's for a flashlight but not very bright for an indoor light. Standard bulbs 1600 lumens. When I adjusted the lamp and turned it on I felt it was a bit dim and when I checked it was 100% brightness. I tried to find another bulb that was brighter thinking I bought the wrong one and no they only have 800 lumen bulbs. I consider that insufficient. Update After a week of use I have more problems. 16 million colors is not exactly true, just different levels of brightness of the colors. As you move a color across the spectrum, you'll hardly notice that it changes much. I also hate that you can only save 6 colors. Even if the color changes and you have set a schedule and you set the color and brightness, only the brightness level changes in that schedule and the color stays the same. This was a terrible mistake that resulted in my rating being downgraded. I've tried resetting the lightbulb and updating the firmware, but the white color doesn't work, it's replaced with blue. This bulb stood on a lamp and was rarely used. It turned on when we got home and turned off again after 10 minutes. 10-30 minutes a day when it's turned on 3 times a day doesn't seem practical for it to stop working.

Pros
  • An OSRAM LIGHTIFY Gateway is not required to use this lamp with Apple HomeKit. Your lights connect directly to Apple HomeKit via Bluetooth on a compatible iOS device and are controlled via the Apple Home app.
Cons
  • Very expensive
