Up to 2020 and last year I used different cardboard and plastic boxes to achieve different heights on my MacBook. The Tounee stand does this and more. It immediately became clear that this is a worthy product; It's extremely stable and configurable in more ways than I need at the moment. I have this as a semi-permanent desk item, I won't be opening and closing it constantly, but I find the sturdy hinges will withstand a traveler's opening and closing for years. This is the right weight to feel like a well built product. 2020 and 2021 were the years of online video calling and meeting other people. It showed us the need for a better camera angle and height for the face (not to mention good lighting). This product offers a safe way to achieve that. I was always aware that my "boxes" were very temporary, unstable and taking up space on the table. With the Tounee stand I have space under my music stand or iPad (vertical or landscape) with music. I highly recommend this product.
