Review on ECCPP Replacement Leveling Chevrolet Silverado by Robert Carlson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

ehhh probably not worth the money

I have a set of adjustable Bilstein 5100 struts on the front of my 2017 Silverado. I moved this setting to the maximum Bilstein stance setting, giving me a level of 1.85 inches above the stock position. I wanted a little bit more so I bought this set. The kit says it will raise the car. 0.5" over stock. The aluminum spacers appear to be of good quality and only time will tell if they buckle under the weight of the car. I say this because of a serious lack of planning for assembling the rest of the kit The bolts supplied with the kit are 80mm long which is 15mm longer than standard bolts.I knew it wasn't going to work so just for fun I fed one of those supplied bolts through the base and into the bearing holder. The bolt was like that long that it touched the CV-shaft Yes, how does it work when your suspension sags from a speed bump, let alone off-road In addition, the quality of the bolt is grade 5 steel, which is considered to be significantly weaker than the factory grade 10.9 You can tell if a bolt is class 5 by the three dashes on top of the bolt head I ran to the Ace gear and grabbed the et was metric grade 8.8, which is about a grade 5, but that's what I could get at the time. I plan to update these two 10.9 grades when I find the right screws of the right length. The screws I bought were 70mm, not the 80mm that came with it. You might think that 10mm isn't that much of a difference, but when you have parts in close proximity to each other it makes a difference. These screws cost me almost $10, which is probably why this kit is so cheap. I'd rather they ship the right length, right grade bolts and pay a few bucks more. But lesson learned, don't buy this kit unless you have your own bolts and washers. Oh yes, that was different. The washers that came with it were ridiculously thin. Seriously, the equipment supplied should be used around the home, not in vehicles.

Pros
  • lift and suspension kits
Cons
  • unreliable
