I've bought a lot of scratching posts over the years but this is the first I'm buying again. Unlike my previous ones, this scratching post is solidly built. It is also very easy to assemble. The only tool you need (hex wrench) is included. The base folds down like most other scratching posts, inserting a screw and washer into the bottom. However, two support boards are attached to this one to strengthen the base. This is my first scratching post for it. The first part of the frame is attached to the base with a metal screw. This bolt is screwed into a metal sleeve. There are no plastic parts on the joints. The upper part is attached to the lower part with a metal rod, which is screwed into two metal bushings, between which a small decorative part runs. My cats pounced on the finished product almost immediately. The claw tip is stable and durable. If you're looking for a quality scratching post that your cats will love, then this is for you. I would give ten stars if I could.
