Bought these to go for a walk in the winter. I was expecting them to be warmer but they work great in the mid thirties. Runners will certainly generate their own heat. The size.? I bought Medium because I always have been. They are snug but comfortable. I didn't look at the sizing chart before purchasing and when I did I found my weight was in the mid range at 138lbs! I would suggest going by weight rather than size as very small differences will not affect the overall fit.
