I have used this with a deck. It worked well with just about anything, using torque settings for quick tasks and then opening it up for tougher tasks. I drove 3/8" long 5" bolts into solid wood to the last inch. The drill has enough torque to twist your hand, so hold it with both hands. High and low speed work well for torque applications as well as high speed drilling. I used self tapping screws and it worked fine. I had a 777 and needed to return it to the shop and that was one step towards completing the task. Towards the end I may have increased the torque too much and damaged one of the 3 steel teeth gripping your racquet causing it to wobble a bit. I didn't notice any hesitation on my last work assignment. I gave the tool a 4 for slippage or possible gripper tooth breakage, but I pushed this tool really hard. At the moment it's worth the money and I like the ergonomics of the tool. When it comes to speed and torque selection and use in the tightest of spaces, everything is well set up.
