Dewalt makes a good product, but it breaks.

This drill is a replacement for a drill I bought a few years ago. This is not a drill I use every day. In fact, it has not been used for several months. When I needed it, the "chuck" drill chuck would get stuck in the open position and no matter how hard we tried we couldn't get it to the "lock" position. The drill motor still worked perfectly, just couldn't install drill bits. The repair cost was more than the cost of a replacement drill, so I bought a new one. I love Dewalt products but they…

Pros
  • 1/2" ratcheting chuck provides excellent drill grip strength
Cons
  • Great price

Nice lightweight tool

I have used this with a deck. It worked well with just about anything, using torque settings for quick tasks and then opening it up for tougher tasks. I drove 3/8" long 5" bolts into solid wood to the last inch. The drill has enough torque to twist your hand, so hold it with both hands. High and low speed work well for torque applications as well as high speed drilling. I used self tapping screws and it worked fine. I had a 777 and needed to return it to the shop and that was one step towards…

Pros
  • The compact and lightweight design of this DEWALT drill fits into those hard to reach places

Light weight, high torque

I bought it for my husband. He needed a drill with higher torque and longer life. I've read a lot of information (including reviews) about different drills and tried a lot of drill batteries. It was the lightest drill with the best torque. Another reviewer stated that he uses the t-shirt commercially and commented on how good it is and how light it is. This made me think that a heavy drill on a hard job would probably tire the hand/wrist quickly and during his time in the military and working…

Pros
  • High speed drill transmission provides 2 speeds (0-600 and 0-2000rpm) for various fastening and drilling jobs
Cons
  • Not sure
