I was hoping. In the end I sent it back. Aside from the great difficulty in connecting this collar to my fat and long haired dog, even with longer handlers, the ultimate problem with this collar was that it lacked consistency. Numerous tests of this collar on myself showed that I couldn't help but feel it at lower levels (below 10), but as I gradually increased it, I started to feel it between levels above 10 and closer to 15 or at level 15 towards sense. At that point I lowered the levels and then got a good response from lower levels that I hadn't felt at all before. It then becomes invisible again after sitting, but with the power on, unless I turn it back on at the top, and so on and so forth. It was a breach of the terms of the contract. I wanted it to work at the lowest levels all the time. Since it didn't, it became useless. It's a bad tool because you can't use it effectively at the lowest levels. How it actually feels: I wouldn't call it a knocking sensation like others do. It feels (on my forearm and neck) like a small bee sting or a very subtle burning sensation. This is at lower levels (from 10 to 30). I haven't tried it on myself over 30 and certainly not on my dog near 30 although it goes much higher.
