Review on Dorman 902-860 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Assembly for Ford/Mercury Models - Black Finish by Ryan Brunson

Perfect fit but be careful

I recently replaced the thermostat housing (upper and lower) on my 2009 Ford Explorer. It was perfect for both the top and bottom (item fits both). The only complaint I have is that there is a hose connector at the top which my car doesn't need. The parts supplier supplied an insert for this fitting which was great but only a small metal clip keeps it in place. There is no way this clip would last long or deliver a great deal of pressure. If the fitting breaks, all the coolant goes with it. I smeared the part with black sealant and "glued" it in place. Did the trick and 5000 miles later it's still working great. Good part, just be aware of this weak link
