Excellent bright light; Looks like police from a distance

I've been road biking the DANGEROUS streets of San Francisco for 30 years. Here in California it is now a law for bicycles to have a headlight and taillight. I've always obeyed the law because I don't want a two-ton car riding the front or back of my bike. The best thing that has happened since sliced bread is the development of LED lights. In 2019, LED lights are bright, multi-mode, compact, have long battery life, and are inexpensive. As an added bonus, these headlights now come with whatever color bulbs you want. Clear, red, green, blue, everything is fine. I bought this "light bar" because it has a strobe effect AND THE COLORS INCLUDED BLUE LIGHTS! Why blue? Because I made a discovery about 10 years ago, when drivers see a flashing blue light, they wake up, are on full alert and overtake me very slowly, at maximum speed or slower. Yes, you guessed it, they think the flashing blue light is a cop. Wherever I walk my dogs, cars rush by, mostly because motorists are outraged by the heavy traffic in San Francisco, where stop signs or traffic lights are on the streets. at almost every intersection in the city. (Walking the dog is like walking into danger.) And it doesn't help that our streets are dark or poorly lit. Solution: This LED lights up blue. I attach them to my dog's collars and leashes. In 2019 I became an expert on an effective flashlight to keep me on my bike or while walking my dogs. What's important to me and what I like about these lamps: 1) Brightness; 2) how much light shines from the battery; and 3) the availability of different modes to choose from (color, flash sequence, flash and size). to "white light, non-flashing/steady on".) The blue LED light in strobe mode, which I call "police strobe," is pretty impressive. You can turn on the blue, red and white lights or set them to strobe. (which is very effective). I mounted two of these little light bars on the handlebars of my bike. Depending on the road I'm driving on, I can use a flashlight as a headlight. Sometimes I can have both "headlight mode". Other times, I might have both in "police strobe mode" (you'll definitely notice when those lights are strobe blinking). They're most effective at deterring reckless drivers from passing me at 40 mph (which is a crowded apartment). These lanterns appear to be well constructed. They have a small footprint, which is nice if, like me, you mount all sorts of things on your bikes (camera, phone, horn, lights, GPS). Verdict: Worth the money, IMO. WARNING: Here in California, vehicle statutes prohibit the use of flashing white lights that other drivers may mistake for the police. And of course, if the lights flash, you'll end up handcuffed in jail. Under many traffic laws, bicycles (including e-bikes) are considered "vehicles" to comply with the Highway Code. (We must stop at a stop sign, come to a full stop, then continue, stop at a red light and wait for the light to turn green.) Traffic rules are poorly enforced for cyclists. For example, bicycles typically ride stop signs and illegally run red lights when there is no traffic. Cyclists have been arrested for drunk driving and prosecuted as if it were a car and not a bike. However, the police never stopped me for flashing blue lights on my bikes. I suspect it's because the police know that cycling in San Francisco takes your life into their own hands. Plus, they'll probably appreciate my blue lights slowing down speed or reckless drivers. Your city can be different. I'm not saying you'll get arrested for posing as a cop, but if a cop sees you're having a bad day for whatever reason, the flashing blue light can be a problem. So use them at your own risk.

Pros
  • USB rechargeable battery with decent battery life. Never waste money on batteries again. For fast charging, simply connect the bike light to any USB device, e.g. B. an external battery, a car charger or a wall adapter.
Cons
  • So So
