Bought this for my granddaughter in place of the standard sorting cube her dad had as a kid. Comes in a small box (you can tell the toy is mass produced overseas and sold by several different companies on Revain as there are a million listings for this). The chicken and eggs are made of hard plastic. Inside, small eggs open to reveal colors and shapes that can be coordinated. Overall, this is a cute toy that's different from the original shape sorter. Not sure if it will last long, but a temporary toy to visit grandma will do.
