Magnets work great and we've never had a van or truck. If your car is dirty, I would advise you to be extra careful when putting it on and taking it off so you don't scratch the paintwork. I'm not sure if this is the case, but you should be careful. The only small complaint I would have is that I wish they were a bit bigger. It's hard to tell from the pictures and imagine if the size is enough when you decide to order them, but even if they seem big enough you really need to be standing directly behind or to the side to read them. If there's a car accelerating behind you or waiting to turn onto the street you're on, you really can't read the signs to know it's a learner driver. Anyway, nobody honked our horns or shouted while driving, so either they have to work or my teenager isn't as bad a driver as we thought. (Although she hit the gas instead of pausing and jumped the curb and crashed my truck into a tree. So $500 deductible and $1800+ repairs later, my truck is back on the road. lol).
