We lost our Roku 3 controller. We were sure it would come and be half the price of a brand new Roku capable of handling the 4k set we (eventually) buy want seemed to be bad choice now. It doesn't have motion controls (for gaming) or remote control headphones and has to be pointed at the Roku sensor like all the other remotes we have, but it works! And here's an unexpected benefit: it doesn't need to be paired! Not a big deal, yes, but when we finally found the Roku Drifter remote, it was still paired and working right out of the box. You don't have to change something every time. And such cases will still exist. Follow the advice of Dr. Bob: Buy one of these NOW even if you don't need them. If you're a normal person, you'll lose the controller at least once. It's in our DNA. In case of an emergency, keep this device in the burglar jar so you can resume your rokuing right away and postpone your frantic search until tomorrow. Cheap insurance.
