Review on Look KEO Classic Road Pedals by Tyrone Lee

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Make sure you have an 8mm wrench

I was torn between these pedals and Shimano 105 pedals but eventually settled on the more budget friendly Look pedals. I'm happy with my purchase but I don't have any similar pedals to compare as these are my first clip on pedals of this type. Unlike other bike pedals I've bought, these attach to the spindles with a regular 8mm allen wrench; Perhaps useful for those who don't want to afford or don't have a bike pedal wrench, but it's a little frustrating that it doesn't come with it: I had to dive into my basement box of old allen wrenches. and luckily found it. After that, installation was easy. The clip system fits snugly into the included spikes and is easy to put on and take off. I've noticed that they have more float (left/right rotation tolerance) than previous non-contact systems I've tried, so keep that in mind when making your decision. The cleats are plastic and have worn down a bit after a few weeks of riding: in particular, the other rubber truncheon in pieces on my left boot fell off almost immediately (I'm "pushing" the trigger with this foot from the start, which I think has the glue quite a bit on it worn out quickly). If you're really *really* interested in losing weight, they're not the lightest, but chances are you're not looking at this price point anyway. For the money I would say unbeatable.
