I bought this adapter to use with an external hard drive on my PS4. At first, I kept getting an error message that my external hard drive wasn't properly disabled and needed to be repaired. I initially assumed the problem was with the hard drive until I tried using it without an extension. It turned out that the problem was with the extension, although the connection seemed secure. I fixed it by wrapping tape around the connection points and haven't had any problems since. **UPDATE** Unfortunately I had to request a refund. My solution no longer works and I get more error messages.
