I got this to teach my dog to remember from afar. I've never tried other remote control collars so I don't know what to expect. I tested the shock function at level 1 and found it a little painful and uncomfortable, like a 3 out of a 10 point scale. into my skin I didn't like it so I don't use it for my little dog either. I was surprised that at level 1 the shock is already so strong, from the videos I saw on YouTube with the official mini educator, the tester didn't feel anything until level 20! Since the shock function scares me, I mostly do sports. with vibration function. I find this annoying enough for my level 20 dog to get his attention. You can see in my video when I vibrate the collar he checks and looks at me. Finally, I wish the collar cutting and fitting instructions were clearer. The instructions said I could get my dog to wear the collar two ways and one of the ways looked like the collar could wrap around the prongs but I couldn't figure out how to get that configuration . There was also no indication that the collar could be cut off. I hope so because I did! Overall, the features work as advertised and were easy to put together and use.
