We've had a Hoover wind tunnel for a couple of years that seemed to be dead: the brushes stopped spinning and it just didn't seem to have the power to spin with it was working when we first brought him home. I knew the straps hadn't snapped, so I figured he was just getting old. After doing a little research online, I found that the straps can stretch to the point where the vacuum barely works, which happened to us. Phillips screwdriver and five minutes and the belt was replaced. Vacuum cleaner works like new again! If you have one of these models and haven't changed the belt in a number of years, I highly recommend it - it's a very affordable setup!
