Great kitchen / small scale for packages in general. Fast, repeatable and accurate measurements compared to my other 18lb capacity scales. The top surface is plastic so I think it will scratch over time but this is normal and probably preferable for me as the glass will be difficult to move. The nice thing is that the surface is completely flat and easy to clean. The instructions say it's not waterproof, and I kind of have no doubts about that - there's a seam under the top surface that I think liquid can leak through, which isn't sealed (although you might be able to seal it yourself, but I'm not overly concerned.) What's worth noting is that unlike some scales, these don't work with a fixed stand, but instead take the measurement by tilting the top, as is typical with jewelry scales. It has 4 feet on the bottom so you'll need a fairly flat and stable surface to hold everything properly, but it also makes it easier to clean the whole thing and makes you less likely to spill sugar through the hole at the top. for example. My only concern is that the legs on the bottom of the scale are just above the buttons. So if you press the tare button on the scale with a lot of force, you could rock and lift the scale off the table, which it won't. t exactly the case. big deal - you don't have to strain to press the tare button, but you probably will from time to time.
