Exactly what I was hoping for!

I recently bought a shed for my parents' farm and am converting it into a one-room apartment. I have many cats. How much. They love to go out, but life in the country means constant danger for them. There's a small porch that I've enclosed in chicken wire and, conveniently, a window that overlooks it. Before receiving this product I simply left the window open which worked fine until the flies swarmed. My windows are smaller than regular house windows so I was concerned they would be too big, but they barely fit and worked great. It definitely needs to be sealed with sealant or something for the winter as it leaves small gaps for air entry, but that's not the seller's fault. I don't think you could have prevented something like this if you didn't have a custom made window. As for the air intake, you will also get it through the door vent, but I guess that's just the nature of the product. In order for the door to move back and forth easily enough for the cat to push comfortably, there needs to be some space between it and the frame. The door also moves when the wind is strong enough. A few hours ago we had a storm and it was a very strong wind. I just fastened the clasp in place and it's holding up well. While this allowed a small amount of rain to seep over the edges, the wind was blowing so hard that the rain literally fell sideways. Again, this isn't something that a product change can fix. These are just things to keep in mind and probably only need to be done if you want a cat door in your window, whichever one you choose. My adult cats have no trouble figuring out how to get through this. They all used it regularly throughout the day. The kittens are still trying to figure it out, but I'm sure the door is light enough that they'll use it eventually. Depending on the location of your window, you'll need some sort of shelf or ledge so they can stand up to get through. I don't think my cats would be able to use it as they had to jump off the floor to the window and hit the bullseye that would be the door flap to get through. Overall I am very satisfied with the product. . It does its job well and I'm glad I bought it! Please excuse me while I'm at war with the flies that have accumulated in my home prior to my purchase.
