Nice playpen shelves aren't enough when you need to confine a cat or two for more than a few hours, but they solved that problem. I added a second shelf to the middle one in my playpens to double the width and accommodate either food bowls or a large area for the cat to stretch out! They're also a lot more substantial than the ones that came with the kit, so in some cases I've replaced the original shelf with one of these and added an extra shelf. (This is for 20+ pound boys!) All cats love playpens since I made this small change.
