Yes, this bed frame was relatively easy to assemble, although it took quite a while and the slats were more difficult to assemble as some other reviewers have noted; the fit was not perfect. So far it seems strong enough. While this frame has grooves on the top and bottom edges to keep the mattress in place, it moves sideways if you bump into the mattress while making the bed. I'm not sure why you have the lip on both ends and not the sides, but that's just me. The only thing I didn't take into account and which I'm very disappointed with is that I can't use a dust hood with this frame as the bars on the side require slots in the dust ruffle and the hood on the ends doesn't work, reach the entire length where the mattress sits. Of course I could hang it over the edge of the bed, but then the bed skirt doesn't fit properly and just looks stupid. What's the point of keeping all sorts of boxes under this beautiful bed frame if they're going to be displayed because I can't put a skirt on the frame?
