Looks good but won't connect, poor quality control

I don't know if it's a defect or just bad design. The door is 1 inch shorter to reach the latch! The base is a solid piece of metal, as is the underside of the swing door, and neither the latch nor the hinges slide out, so it's definitely not adjustable. We give two stars because the door stop function works, although it is quite sensitive. If your child or dog pushes at all, it opens easily.
