I don't know why some say you can just use distilled water. This eyewash contains pH balancers, making it great for use in your eyes, which distilled water is not. I used collyrium until Bausch & Lomb bought it back and then killed it. I cannot use Bausch & Lomb Eye Liquid because it stings my eyes, presumably due to the inactive ingredients used. This eye fluid uses the same inactive ingredients as collyrium and does not sting at all. It is also much better than other eye washes. I bought a pair of closed eyecups from Collyrium so I'm going to use them for ease of use. Pouring lotion liquid into a cup is a little tedious as the mouth is so wide and I poured it into an old collyrium bottle for my elderly dad, but that wouldn't stop me from buying it again and again!
