. Ok. I'm a decent looking middle aged blonde who hates going to the mechanic since mine retired. I'm sick of being talked down and added to my overall score with completely unnecessary things because this woman grew up with a father who was a Marine and worked with vehicles in the Army. At the same time, our jeep's check engine light came on and the hubs weren't ready to take it (unfortunately I usually ship it because they're not so lenient with my military/fireman/commander husband) so I decided to poop on it, broke down and bought a code reader. This device was great! The biggest draw for me was not only the fact that there were not only Asian cars on display, but also the huge screen! And it's not that we speak anything other than English and some mangled German in the house, but there are multiple language options. The OBDII connector was easy to plug into both the device and the car, and the cable is just long enough so you don't get caught at odd angles when leaning into the dash (I'm not a yoga mom with Flexibility). We had a plastic DLC cover on the Jeep, but it came off immediately and was easy to connect. Once connected, the scanner automatically lowered and showed us the main screen. Once you get to the scan you select your car's region, model and year then put in which module you want to read the codes and it told us what I suspected. Bad tire pressure sensor. I mean it was all just enough to use without even looking at the instructions. And as I flipped through the booklet, it was very easy to read, and there wasn't a single part that struck me as a bad translation. Even our 13-year-old girl understood the step-by-step on-screen diagnostic process, even if she didn't understand the smallest details. He also recognized my dad's Honda Ridgeline and I hope he recognizes my Equinox if something happens. But the brochure says future updates will add more supported vehicles. And there's a USB cable to connect to the printer, I suppose so you can take your own codes to the mechanic (ha!), but we didn't have to use that sooo good option! I'm just generally glad that now I can better understand what's going on before someone tries to take all my money from me. Rschunimagu
