In truth, the quality is much higher than the price! I'm not crazy about writing reviews and rarely am. First, I've been a photographer for over 40 years and I'm fortunate to be able to use the best equipment the market has to offer. Now that I'm retired, I only shoot professionally. With that in mind, I judge gear by its performance over time and durability. I bought this monopod about a year ago as a quick replacement for another monopod I've owned for years. I was only going to use this for a short time so I bought a "cheap disposable" or quick fix for my needs. Big...huge...pleasant surprise! I've used this (I mean really used) monopod extensively over the past year. I have back problems and use a walking stick every day. I was so impressed with this product that I decided to use it as a walking stick/monopod as I am strapped to my camera all the time. The Dolica WT 1003 is so light and well built that I have bought three (3) more. Two as gifts to two photographer friends (they have the same look now) and one more for me in case the manufacturer discontinues or changes it. I shoot with Fuji and Nikon cameras. In conjunction with this mono I use a G-Series Sirui G-10 G10X ball head, which I also received from Revain. (about $100). My heaviest rig is a Nikon d7100 and a 150-600mm lens. "NO PROBLEM" with Dolika sending this setup. Conclusion: After going through this combination last year, I felt the need to pass the information on to others. Of course, you rarely get quality for less, but this really is one of those cases. I highly recommend the Dolica WT-1003, thanks Bill Boone.
