I've been dabbling with oil pastels for the last year or two. I had the opportunity to work with several brands. This is one of my favorite products. The pastels are capped inside with a plastic to keep them in place. There is a pack of crayons and company paper. PASTEL QUALITY According to the labels, these are mungyo pastels. They have great pigmentation, are very creamy and easy to work with. They also mix well and layer well. QUALITY OF THE PENCILS The pencils supplied are very cheap and of high quality. These are the ones you give to kids as they are harder to break and don't have many colors. CHARACTERISTICS These pastel colors performed very well. I love how they layer and blend well. They cover well and I'm impressed with the pigmentation too. I have other brands that are not as good as this one. They are either too soft or waxy. It's a great balance. COLORS The choice of colors for these pastels is large. I can paint both living pictures and more mundane things if I want to. BOTTOM LINE This oil pastel set is one of the best I have ever used. Pastels have the right balance of smoothness and creaminess, hardness and color pigmentation. MY RATING IS FIVE STARS. I plan to experiment more with oil pastels this winter and this set will be used a lot.
