Review on ๐Ÿต Stylish and Functional: Le Creuset Stainless Steel Demi Tea Kettle, 1.25 qt. by Sophie Martines

Revainrating 5 out of 5

We liked the "flame " china over the exact size steel teapot.

We liked the 'flamed' porcelain kettle over steel exactly the same size and style as this stainless steel model but unfortunately the interior has deteriorated over the last 3 years and rust was evident. When we came across this version, also offered by Le Creuset, we gritted our teeth and shelled out the rather high running costs in the hope that the kettle would last significantly longer than a porcelain kettle. The only notable differences between them are: 1) the loop where the handle connects to the front/back of the kettle. They're all stainless steel, not plastic, and the handle rotates less and only in one direction to allow free access to fill the kettle, and 2) the base has a stainless steel liner that's induction-ready. The inner baffle at the bottom of the spout differs slightly from the porcelain model, but is almost the same. I tested the time it takes to boil the exact same amount of water (measured as a litre) to compare the performance of the porcelain version with our induction hob and found this stainless steel kettle to be just 30 seconds longer to cook cooking needs. lined floor. The total time was 5 minutes to 2 seconds versus 4 minutes to 30 seconds for the porcelain floor. Actually a significant difference for anyone interested in this detail. The quality of the finish is chrome-plated, pristine stainless steel, which we don't expect to last forever, but that's generally the case with stainless steel cookware.
