So I bought a bunch of these lights because I thought the color change would be cool. While cool, the novelty faded very quickly. Ultimately, this is a really useless feature for me. What it really takes to set up automatic control and easily turn the light on and off with my cellphone. Customization is the real problem. You should install them within a few feet of your wireless router or access point, otherwise good luck integrating them into your network. Although the application is fine, it still requires some effort to set up automation rules. The lights aren't very bright either. They're meant more for accent lighting or to illuminate a dark room. If you want to read with this light, forget it. Here's the real problem with lightbulbs, at least for me. They are very "talkative". What I mean? The lamps are constantly broadcasting to the network via IRC ports, about 2-3 transmissions per second per lamp. My network is flooded with these broadcasts. While they don't cause many problems with home Wi-Fi networks, flooding the network with 24/7 traffic is really bad design.
