A few tips: make sure you have a thermostat connected to it! - Heating mats are not intended to be plugged into an outlet in an uncontrolled manner to generate heat. Buy a temperature controller so you can heat/cool it. I use JumpStart and was recommended by Snake Discovery. As for the stickiness, I'm not sure why it's not sticking. When you first apply it, turn the container upside down and maybe put a heavy object (e.g. a book) on top to make sure it sticks and let it sit for a day. That's how I did it and it wasn't a problem.
