I use it as a night heater for my gecko and it works great! However, I connected it to a temperature reader to better control the temperature as it is more secure. You'll need to flatten the heat mat and wand, so get your heavy books ready! Holds up pretty well! Edit: I've had it for almost a year now and it still works amazing. It's weird because I see reviews of it getting too hot or cold or not sticking and I've never had this problem. A few tips: make sure you have a thermostat connected to it! - Heating mats are not intended to be plugged into an outlet in an uncontrolled manner to generate heat. Buy a temperature controller so you can heat/cool it. I use JumpStart and was recommended by Snake Discovery. As for the stickiness, I'm not sure why it's not sticking. When you first apply it, turn the container upside down and maybe put a heavy object (e.g. a book) on top to make sure it sticks and let it sit for a day. That's how I did it and it wasn't a problem.
