I've had the Galaxy Tab A for about 2 weeks and I like it so far. It is ideal for reading e-books, surfing the web and playing all kinds of games. However, I have seen many conflicting and confusing comments on GPS navigation capabilities. I was a bit worried about all this confusion, but I'm here to tell you that I was able to run GPS navigation in my car (WITHOUT WiFi). That worked great, but I had to install the Google Maps app first. The Google Maps app has a map download feature. I just downloaded the maps while on wifi at home and then got the Tab A in the car! The GPS navigation worked great! ▪ ▪ ▪ August 2017 Update ▪ ▪ ▪ I recently used my Galaxy Tab 8 for flight navigation. I now have the Avare app installed. it gives me a moving ticket. access plates. IFR charts and airport information with weather overlay. Everything I need to navigate my private jet through all types of airspace under IMC/Instrument conditions. I still love this tablet and the long battery life.
