Fixed the biggest weakness of the Hue system - acceptable color temperature.

One of the biggest drawbacks of the Hue system was that the bulbs could reach the brightness of a 60 watt bulb, but no higher. Oddly enough, you could get lightbulbs that turned purple, but you couldn't get the equivalent of a 75-watt or 100-watt incandescent bulb, although there are plenty of places where you need that much light. This solves this problem. It has a maximum output equivalent to a 100 watt incandescent bulb that you can dim down to any level you want. The only drawback is the lack of an option to set the color temperature. Luckily, the color is a pure, soft white, which was deliberately chosen to disturb as few people as possible. It's not the harsh cold white that makes everything look like a hospital waiting room. On the contrary, it's warm enough not to offend those of us who prefer traditional warm glow from incandescent bulbs. Philips still doesn't seem to understand that many people need 75- or 100-watt versions of their smart bulbs, as the bulb's advertising shows it being placed in garages and back rooms. I bought them thinking they might have terrible quality of light only suitable for a garage. But they're good for your living space, and while my lower-wattage, "white vibe" Hue bulbs end up producing a nicer light than these, the difference is subtle enough that you shouldn't avoid them just because you do Can't adjust light. . . color temperature. If you need a brighter bulb somewhere and already have an investment in a Hue system then this is a very welcome addition.
