You will definitely need a dimmer for these lamps. I really like the lights in my van when I add a dimmer. A dimmer makes working with light much easier. Without a dimmer, the lighting is MUCH brighter. The attached chiaroscuro image may not look bad, but at night the brightness is overwhelming.
