Review on EBC Brakes DP61146 Greenstuff Truck by Darth Calder

Great pads for the money!

I bought these brake pads for my Chevy S-10 pickup. I have these pads on another car and they worked great so I bought a set for my truck. Some Chevy vehicles suffer from weak/soft brakes. My S-10 was suffering from this, so I decided to fix the problem. Chevy should have redesigned their brakes many years ago, but due to outdated issues, they couldn't handle the redesign. I replaced the rotors with pads so I had a "clean slate," as they say. The improvement was noticeable immediately. Braking has been greatly improved and in particular is more responsive. It has definitely given me confidence that you will be able to stop if necessary. For those who own a GM car and want to upgrade their brakes, my next step would be to replace the rubber brake lines in addition to upgrading the brake pads and rotors. with stainless steel basketwork. I don't care about show cars, but reinforced lines keep the brake lines from expanding under pressure. Thus, the "sponge" pedal is minimized. These pads also reduce brake dust, so you don't have to clean good discs as often. As I said, I have them in another car. I have 18,000 EBC miles on this car with no noticeable wear. At this point I would estimate that these pads will last at least 40,000 miles. The cost is a little higher, but no more than other premium brakes. If your life depends on stopping your car on time, the extra $40-$50 isn't worth the trade-off.
