Material seems durable. I bought my wife a 2010 Ford Flex. I didn't actually give away the supplied adhesive pads, I used Gorilla Clear Glue to fix them. The base of the antenna didn't rest against the roof, so I had to do a bit of a clean handle to make sure it was airtight. So after a few weeks and a heavy tropical rain: no leaks and still holding (that says a lot about my wife's driving π )
