Replaced original muffler on 96ft XJ. The float fits great and sounds great. I removed everything including the cat from the layout, disassembled it and replaced the parts back on the truck. Aligned cat, marker and exhaust pipe. attached everything with mig. Once I was sure everything was aligned and there was a gap, I removed everything and welded it tight. Just clamp from the pipe head to the cat. And it's just incase attached. Installation approx. 3 hours. The sound is excellent, not loud, but a quiet rumble. Freeway Trail is very happy with the replacement. Sentence. If you have tools, air chisel, grinder, welder, pretty easy job. If not, throw in $100 and have the muffler shop replace it. My only regret is that I didn't replace the cat with a marker right away. I would also suggest welding the block together. SUVs are often severely centered, I hate loosening the exhaust system because the yoke has failed. The quality of the muffler was, as expected, exceptional.
