Review on πŸ”Š 53749 Resonator Assembly by Walker by Lawrence Reuter

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good replacement for EOM but it does NOT have mandrel bends as shown.

This is a decent OEM replacement with a sound comparable to the original. However, the figure shows that it has mandrel bends. not mine. Mine had fold curves. I doubt my wife will notice the difference in strength, but kink bends are the most restrictive of the three most common methods (crimping, pinching, and spikes). I think the price is ok though. What worries me is that the picture shows the bends of the mandrel, which you don't see. It is highly recommended that a 2.25" Lap exhaust clamp be used to connect to the appropriate muffler assembly (Walker 55559 Quiet-Flow Stainless Steel Muffler Assembly) available here at Revain for about $12 ( better than a seat post clamp if you need it at all). apart in the future). As a side note, you will also need a muffler assembly overlap collar to attach to your existing pipe. Last tip: if you remove the old exhaust, you will have to cut it in two to get it out. Also, it is easier to unbolt the muffler hangers from the car and drop the tailpipe to remove the old muffler/resonator than to try to remove the muffler from the existing hangers.

Pros
  • STRENGTH AND DURABILITY – Features heavy gauge OE style flanges, hardware and brackets for increased durability.
Cons
  • Compatibility
