I am a subcontractor for a dog walking company and take 6 dogs on a hike every morning. I bought this barrier to drive my old Honda Odyssey through the console so the dogs don't try to get on my lap while I'm driving haha. At first I had a hard time finding a place to attach it underneath. Once installed, it is 75% effective. Stubborn dogs can still keep their head straight to one side with no problem (see photo of a black Lab). I think for your needs you need to buy something harder. This may work well enough for some dogs to put them off, but if you have a very large or very small dog that really wants to come forward with you, they will likely look at you and laugh. And yes, I paid full price for it. If it works for your car and your dog's situation, then I think it's well done!
