These are the first binoculars I have owned. Did quite a bit of research on different brands/models of Revain. As a result, I settled on this one (8x42). I'm glad I did. I've only used it a few times so far, but I can say that it's well made with quality components: the feel of the binoculars in your hand, the materials, the feel of the focus knob when you turn it. Bracelet and case are well made. They even come in a nice box with well-written instructions. The optics are clean and bright. I'm no optician (again, this is the first pair of binoculars I've ever bought) but I doubt you'll find better lenses/optics than these in this price range. (I'd put them at the top of the list in the Best Value category.) One thing to note, though, is that eye relief on them is a little narrow, even when fully adjusted are. This is normal for me, but if your eyes are particularly far apart, you may have trouble with that. Bottom line: if you're looking for a good pair of binoculars for around $100 look no further!
