I rarely leave reviews but thought it would be important for old Dyson owners. The extension hose on my 2005 vacuum recently broke. It took me 4 months plus a bunch of duct tape to get this for $40. After a lot of research I found that the new Dyson vacuums are smaller in size than they were 10 years ago. But since I didn't want to buy a new vacuum cleaner, I ordered this replacement. As other reviews have said, the top end of the hose fits well. You have to step on the bottom edge with your foot in order not to move. Bottom line, I can't afford any other high-end vacuum cleaner. A decent engineer could probably figure out how to connect a new hose to an old fitting. I will only kick at the end if I need to vacuum the stairs otherwise it's not a problem. For the record, I hate how all modern technology is outdated. :)
